Ideal Optics was founded in 1973 by Dennis McClung
who is now happily retired.

In 2007 Ideal Optics joined Walman Optical and its X-Cel contact lens division as a new branch
of their contact lens operations.  Our company, Walman Optical, is 100% employee owned with
operations in all aspects of the optical industry including ophthalmic
lens laboratories, frames, instruments and more.

The manager at Ideal Optics is L. Shelton Sawyer, NCLEC.
Shelton joined Ideal Optics in 1975 and has worked in all aspects
of the business from lens design and manufacturing
to fitting consultation and operations management.
